Patience is a Virtue!

While we are very pleased with the work that AENArchitects has done so far (they had drawings ready to be submitted for the construction permit long before we even signed a contract!), it is a slow process. We signed with AEN in February of this year (2006) and they immediately filed the application for the construction permit with the New York City Department of Buildings (NYCDOB). At the end of May, we are still waiting to obtain the permit. We have had to change a few things in the design and we are also seeking to get a few items waived by the NYCDOB. Our construction timeline has been pushed back a bit. Lord-willing, we will start the work in July and complete the project around the end of this calendar year. Meanwhile, Sure Foundation members have donated their time and talents to prepare the space for renovation. After at least three 30-yard containers of debris have been hauled away over the past year and a half, the space is broom clean and ready to go with the renovation. This has truly been a test of patience, yet we continue trusting that the Lord always knows what is best for us and that he always does his good and gracious will on his timeline.
