Whether its feeding 5,000 people with limited fish and bread, or helping young Hispanic children with homework, part of our duty as Christians is to aid those around us.
Thats why a main goal of Sure Foundation in Queens, NY, is an after-school tutoring center, said Pastor Steven Gabb.
Not only do many of Sure Foundations second-generation Hispanic children need a distraction-free homework environment, their parents need helping hands in translating English homework.
Plus, many of those parents work until 5 p.m. or later, while their children finish school as early as 2:30 p.m. A Sure Foundation after-school program would give children a safe and productive place to stay during those hours.
Sure Foundation is planning on providing that service in the near future a goal in conjunction with the churchs ultimate goal of Building Relationships for Jesus, even if its one homework assignment at a time.
